Investments

CI Director Joseph Kowalsky is an investment broker in addition to selling insurance (see above).

CI does not offer investment advice and does not endorse the investment advice of others. The following is information that you and your investment advisers may wish to consider.

Cryonics Institute member John de Rivaz is of the opinion that if cryonics succeeds, then the growth in quotations of technology companies averaged over periods of decades will be of the order of 25% per year. Short term fluctuations, such as the enormous rise between September 2000 and March 2001, and the subsequent fall back again must be ignored in any long term holding of shares. Also be aware that "dot com" companies are not necessarily technology companies. They are trading companies.

If technology does not grow this way, then it is likely that there will be no revivals. Therefore it makes sense to fund cryopreservation by technology investment. If technology fails, then so will cryonics — and you will know nothing about it.

For investments in technology companies, one should take a look at his web pages about investment in technology for cryonics purposes. He is also willing to discuss individual requirements by email: John@deRivaz.com

Of course different people have different views on investment. Many well-known financial analysts would strongly disagree with Mr. de Rivaz.  Ultimately the choice and responsibility is yours after reading as many opinions as possible.

And, of course, the best investment one can make to insure one's survival is to consider increasing your insurance policy endowment or making a donation to your cryonics provider. The stronger a cryonics organization is financially, the safer its patients are, and the better the chances for all its members.
